Tree Removal and Why Plant a Woodland Farm Instead
If you have a bare patch of land that you’re not too sure what do with have you considered planting some trees? Perhaps even, if you have sufficient space, creating a woodland farm, so you can really put your land to work for you?
If not, then here are just a few reasons why you might consider replacing newly removed tree with a woodland farm.
Timber If you are considering the commercial opportunities of planting trees, then of course timber is one of the main crops. Also, the demands on domestic timber production are only set to increase as the government moves away from imports. Even if you don’t want to sell your timber (or perhaps don’t have sufficient space to make this a commercially viable option) then timber has a vast array of uses. It may be fencing for other parts of your land, wood chips and other materials to help other plants grow – the domestic use of timber is incredibly varied. Produce your own timber, and see the savings start to build up quickly.
Screening and Shelter Trees can be excellent natural barriers, which can protect your land and home from extremes of weather or blights on the landscape. For example, if your yard is in an exposed area then planting a row of trees can protect your plants from high winds, for example. Likewise, if your property is located close to a busy road, a row of trees can block both the unsightly view of passing cars and also help to dampen any noise pollution.

Fun and Games! A forest is nature’s original playground. Depending on the space you have available, planting trees can provide a fun area for a whole range of outdoor activities. Mountain biking, paint-balling or even horse riding can all be great fun – if you have the space to accommodate such things of course. Even a small patch of land can be transformed into a welcoming area for picnics with the simple addition of a few trees.
Wildlife Habitats We all these days recognize the importance of providing as many habitats for wildlife as possible. After all, it would be a sad and desolate country indeed were all the wild animals to be allowed to die out. It’s not just animals and birds though that can benefit from your decision to plant trees. Many forms of plants and fungi require tree cover to survive. By planting trees you are encouraging a truly diverse, wild ecology to develop and thrive right on your doorstep. Landscape Finally, there really can be no better argument for planting trees beyond the improvement to the general landscape that they can bring. Trees bring an element of beauty to the skyline that simply cannot be repeated outside of nature. In addition, land and house values may rise in conjunction with your forest. Trees, after all, are key parts of a yard’s overall look. By planting trees and improving the visual aspect of your land, so to do you increase its value.
